Seoconvert Terms of service

SEOConvert (“the App”) is an AI-powered SEO and content automation assistant for Shopify stores, operated by Progryss Media Private Limited (“Progryss”, “we”, “us”, “our”).

These terms set out what the App does, what you may and may not do with it, what it costs, and where each side’s responsibility ends. By installing or using the App you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, do not install the App, and uninstall it if it is already installed.

What the App does

The App runs inside your Shopify admin. It reads your store’s catalogue and content through Shopify’s official APIs, reports on what it finds, and — where you ask it to — writes changes back to your store. What it covers:

  • Full website review — scoring products, collections, blog articles and pages, with a prioritised list of what is holding each one back, and re-scans whenever you want them.
  • One-click Fix — applying fixes across the store at once: filling empty meta titles and descriptions, adding image alt text, and redirecting broken links.
  • Meta optimisation — generating or templating meta titles, meta descriptions and URL handles.
  • AI content writing — drafting blog articles, topic suggestions, tags and target keywords, with optional scheduled publishing to your store’s blog.
  • Image optimisation — alt text, file naming and compression.
  • Technical SEO — broken links, redirects, structured data, crawling and indexing, and search-engine site verification.
  • Speed reporting — mobile and desktop performance and Core Web Vitals, measured through Google PageSpeed Insights.
  • Search Console — read-only search performance for your pages, if you choose to connect a Google account.

Features may be added, changed or removed over time. We will not withdraw a materially significant paid feature without notice to the merchants using it.

Using the App

  • You need an active Shopify store and the authority to install apps on it, and you must be able to enter a binding contract where you are.
  • You sign in through Shopify’s OAuth. We never see or store your Shopify password.
  • You are responsible for what is done through your store’s admin, including by staff or agencies you have given access to.
  • Your relationship with Shopify is governed by your agreement with Shopify. Nothing here changes it.

What you allow the App to change

Installing the App grants us permission, through Shopify’s APIs and only within the scopes you approve at install, to:

  • read your products, collections, pages, blog articles, images, redirects, SEO fields, shop details and the store metadata needed to score and report on your store; and
  • write changes to SEO fields and content — meta titles and descriptions, URL handles, image alt text, redirects, structured data and blog articles — when you trigger an action that does so, including scheduled or automated actions you have switched on.

Automations are yours. If you switch one on — scheduled blog publishing, say, or automatic optimisation of newly added products — you are authorising those writes in advance, without the App asking again each time. Every automation can be switched off from the App’s settings.

By design, One-click Fix only fills fields that are empty: anything you have written yourself is left exactly as it is. That is how the App is built, and it is a design commitment rather than a warranty — you remain responsible for reviewing bulk changes before and after they are applied, and for keeping your own backups of store content.

Plans, credits and payment

How you are charged

All paid plans are billed through Shopify’s Billing API, on your ordinary Shopify invoice. We do not collect, see or store your card details. Prices are in US dollars and exclude taxes, which Shopify handles.

The plans

The App offers a free plan and several paid plans, which differ in the number of credits they include. The current plans, their prices and their credit allowances are the ones shown on the Billing screen inside the App and on our Shopify App Store listing — those are the authoritative source, and they are what you approve before anything is charged.

  • The free plan carries a one-time allowance of credits, granted when you install and yours to keep. It has no trial clock and needs no card.
  • A paid plan renews on a 30-day cycle, matching Shopify’s billing interval, and its credit pool is replaced at each renewal rather than added to.
  • A paid plan may open with a free period, during which credit use is capped at a trial allowance. Its length is shown when you subscribe, and you can end it early from the Billing screen to receive the plan’s full pool straight away.

Plans, prices and allowances may change. We will give notice in the App before a change takes effect for you, and Shopify will ask you to approve any increase before it is charged.

How credits work

  • Credits are spent only where a model generates something for you — writing meta content, generating a blog article, suggesting a keyword or tag, or reading page text in bulk. The cost of each action is shown in the App at the point you press it.
  • Free credits and plan credits are separate pools. The free credits granted at install are never taken away by upgrading, changing or cancelling a plan. Plan credits belong to the billing cycle and do not roll over.
  • Auditing, scanning and ordinary editing do not consume credits — only generation does.
  • Credits have no cash value. They cannot be transferred between stores, sold, or exchanged for a refund.
  • Credits are deducted when the request is made. If a generation fails on our side, write to us and we will restore them.

Cancelling and refunds

  • You can cancel at any time by downgrading to Free or uninstalling the App. Cancellation takes effect through Shopify; paid features and plan credits end when the subscription ends.
  • Charges already made are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise or we agree in writing. A partial month is not pro-rated.
  • If you think you were charged in error, write to us within 30 days at the address below and we will look into it.

AI-generated content

Parts of the App use third-party AI models to draft text — blog articles, meta descriptions, alt text, keyword and topic suggestions. Four things follow from that, and they matter:

  • Output is a draft, not a fact. It can be inaccurate, generic or unsuitable for your products. Reviewing anything before it reaches your storefront is your responsibility, including content published by an automation you switched on.
  • Output is not unique to you. Similar inputs can produce similar text for another merchant. We do not warrant that generated content is original or non-infringing.
  • You own the output the App generates for your store, so far as those rights can be assigned — and you are responsible for it once it is published.
  • You must not use the App to generate content that is unlawful, deceptive, defamatory or infringing, or that makes medical, health, financial or legal claims you cannot substantiate.

No guarantee of search results

Search outcomes depend on search-engine algorithms, competition, your products, your theme and a great deal else that nobody controls. We do not guarantee any ranking, traffic level, indexing outcome, revenue or conversion result. Scores, checklists and estimates in the App are guidance, not promises, and nothing on our website, our App Store listing or in support correspondence should be read as a guarantee of results.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the App for spam, cloaking, doorway pages, keyword stuffing, link schemes or anything else that breaches the guidelines of Google or another search engine;
  • use the App on a store selling unlawful goods or services, or in breach of Shopify’s Acceptable Use Policy;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape or copy the App, or attempt to reach parts of it you have not been granted access to, including its administrative areas;
  • resell, sublicense or offer the App to a third party as your own service without our written agreement;
  • interfere with the Service — by circumventing rate limits or credit accounting, or by generating load intended to degrade it for others;
  • point the App at another party’s website or data without that party’s permission.

We may suspend or end access immediately for a breach of this section.

Third-party services

The App depends on services we do not control, and their own terms and availability apply alongside these:

  • Shopify — authentication, reading and writing store data, and all billing.
  • OpenAI — generating meta content, blog articles, suggestions and text embeddings.
  • Google Search Console API — read-only search performance data, only if you connect an account.
  • Google PageSpeed Insights — page speed and Core Web Vitals measurement.

Connecting Google Search Console is optional and goes through Google’s own consent screen with a read-only scope. You can disconnect it at any time from the App, which revokes the grant at Google. We are not responsible for outages, changes or errors in a third-party service.

Your data

How we handle personal data is set out in the SEOconvert Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: your store content and what the App derives from it remain yours; credentials held for you are encrypted at rest; uninstalling the App deletes your data after a seven-day window, kept so that a reinstall finds your work intact; Shopify’s mandatory privacy webhooks are honoured within the periods Shopify requires; and we do not sell your data.

Intellectual property

The App — its software, interface, design, documentation, and the SEOConvert and Progryss names and logos — is ours, and is licensed to you rather than sold. While your account is in good standing we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own Shopify store or stores. All rights not expressly granted are reserved. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation or payment.

Availability and support

  • We aim for high availability but do not commit to a specific uptime. The Service can be unavailable during maintenance, third-party outages or incidents.
  • Support is by email at progryss@gmail.com and through progryss.com/contact. We aim to reply within two business days.
  • We may modify, suspend or discontinue features. If we withdraw a paid plan entirely we will give reasonable notice and stop charging for it.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us and hold us harmless against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your use of the App in breach of these terms, from content you publish through the App, or from your breach of a third party’s rights or of applicable law.

Suspension and termination

  • You may end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the App.
  • We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if payment fails, if Shopify or the law requires it, or if your use threatens the security or stability of the Service. Where it is practical to do so, we will give notice first.
  • On termination your licence ends and your data is deleted as described above. The sections on AI-generated content, search results, intellectual property, warranties and liability, indemnity and governing law survive.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the foot of this page will change, and for a material change we will give notice in the App or by email to the address on your Shopify account before it takes effect. Continuing to use the App after that date means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, uninstall the App.
