When it comes to the diet and nutrition of our children, we want to give the best food options to them. However, one cannot ignore that a lot of food products in the market, especially catered towards children, are laden with preservatives, artificial flavours and colours. And hence began the quest for preservative free wholesome food. But surprisingly, there weren’t many affordable options available in the Indian market of organic and preservative food. Ms Kavita Prasanth saw this gap and set out on a mission to create a healthy and wholesome brand catered towards babies which would make food products and healthier alternatives to parents. She turned to traditional Indian recipes and shared them on social media, realising that other parents were also facing similar challenges and saw a gap in the market she founded Tots & Moms in 2015 and decided to manage and sell her products in an online retail space.
Tots & Moms earlier website was built on WordPress which couldn’t handle the heavy duty work of an ecommerce platform. The website often became slow and unresponsive. Looking at our track record of successful and timely creation of ecommerce websites, she reached out to Progryss and we figured out what were the challenges her website was dealing with.
Challenges:
1. The first challenge which came forth was the slow and unresponsive website which can be a huge disadvantage for any online business. The website was built on wordpress which has its limitations. The platform could not keep up with the ever evolving demands of an online retail space. Hence, scalability or rather lack of it therefore stunted the growth of this business. It was inevitable that we had to carry out website migration to a much more stable and robust platform such as Shopify.
2. The second challenge which was affecting Tots & Moms WordPress-based site was the sluggish loading speed. The time wasted in loading of the website not only hampered user experience but also had a direct impact on bounce rates and search engine rankings.
3. Lastly, the unresponsiveness of the website aggravated user frustration and hampered accessibility across various devices. With the rise in mobile and tablet usage, having a website that was unable to adapt to different screen sizes and resolutions hindered Tots & Moms from tapping into a large chunk of its target audience.
4. There was a need to make the website as updated as possible catering to today’s ever changing demand so we decided to redesign the website layout, integrate chatbot, and other miscellaneous changes.
What Did Progryss to Help Out Tots & Moms with their Website
Solution:
Website Migration: The migration process was a meticulous task which involved the seamless transfer of a vast set of data and intricate functionalities from the former WooCommerce platform to the dynamic platform of Shopify. This transition ensured that not only the product catalogue but also customer data, order histories, and other miscellaneous data seamlessly made their way to the new platform. Our diligent team made sure that during the migration process guaranteed a smooth and uninterrupted transition, minimising any disruptions to the business operations of Tots & Moms.
Website Redesign: The old design of the website was a bit dated so our design team decided to rework on the website layout. Our goal was to develop a visually appealing website which not only resonates with the Tots & Moms brand image but also provides a seamless and enjoyable navigation experience for users. From website’s colour palette to layout and images; everything was entwined to create a harmonious blend which makes the website inviting for the users, making it a memorable experience
Categorization: Keeping in mind the diverse needs of the customer base, we implemented the categorization feature on the website. The inclusion of ‘Shop by Stage,’ ‘Shop by Category,’ and ‘Combo Saver’ options were created to simplify the browsing and shopping experience. Through these sections potential customers could navigate food products based on the developmental stage of their kids or could buy products based on specific categories. Lastly, the ‘How to Cook’ category which contains colourful infographics of recipes that a parent could easily make for their kids.
Social Media Integration: We all are aware how incredibly crucial it is to have a strong social media presence when one is engaged in online business. Our team also decided to put a dedicated space for all the social media handles of Tots & Moms which would act as a gateway for users to connect with a larger community of like minded individuals. Through social media integration, users will be able to get access to reviews, testimonials and the latest updates around the brand.
Chatbot Integration: In response to the surging demand of immediate customer support, it was incredibly crucial to incorporate an AI chatbot assistant to enhance user engagement with the website. This smart virtual assistant would help any user answer their query, providing product recommendations and guide customers through the shopping process quite similar to a salesperson in an actual store.
Testing and Launch: After making major adjustments, our team perfected the product and after rigorous testing it was ready for its relaunch in the digital space. The client was impressed and highly satisfied with the new shopify enabled website.
