Hiredpen (“the App”, “we”, “us”) is provided by [Progryss Media Pvt Ltd]. The App researches search keywords for a Shopify store, proposes blog post titles, writes the posts and publishes them to the store’s blog. This policy explains what information the App collects when a merchant installs it, how we use it, and the merchant’s rights.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
From your Shopify store, through Shopify’s API, with the permissions you approve at installation:
– Store details: store domain, name, country, default language and store languages.
– Your blogs (names), and the titles and web addresses of your published blog posts.
– Product and collection names and web addresses, used only to add internal links in posts.
– The blog posts the App creates, and their status (draft, scheduled, published).
– Your subscription plan and its status, through Shopify Billing.
– The access token Shopify issues to the App for your store.
We do not access your customers’ information, your orders, or your product prices, stock levels or descriptions.
What you enter in the App: topics (seed keywords), words to exclude, posting days and times, publish settings (blog, author, language, draft or published), and writing, image and SEO preferences (for example tone, audience and post length).
Google Search Console (optional): if you connect it, the App reads search performance data (clicks, impressions, click-through rate, position and search queries) for your store’s blog post pages, with read-only access. The access token Google issues is stored encrypted. You can disconnect it in the App’s Settings at any time.
Public web pages: to research a topic, the App reads publicly available web pages that rank in Google search results for it (titles, descriptions and main text), and respects each site’s robots.txt. These are other websites’ public pages, not your data or your customers’ data.
2. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use it only to provide the App:
– to research keywords and propose blog titles;
– to write posts and publish them on your schedule;
– to add internal links to your products, collections and posts;
– to show post performance in Analytics, if Search Console is connected;
– to manage your plan and billing;
– for support, and to keep the App running and secure. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. SERVICE PROVIDERS
To provide the App, we share the necessary information with these providers:
– Shopify: platform, authentication and billing. Shared: as described above.
– DataForSEO: keyword data and Google search results. Shared: topics, keywords, country and language.
– OpenAI and Anthropic: AI research, titles and writing. Shared: keywords, text from public ranking pages, your writing preferences, and your product, collection and post names and web addresses (for links).
– Google: Search Console data, only if you connect it. Shared: your Google authorization and your store’s post web addresses. – [DigitalOcean, region: Bangalore, India]: hosting and database. Shared: all data the App stores. –
[Pexels, only if you choose stock images]: images for posts. Shared: image search terms.
These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We send them only what each task needs.
4. DATA RETENTION
– We keep your store’s data while the App is installed.
– If you uninstall the App, we delete your store’s data [within 48 hours of Shopify’s deletion request (shop/redact)]. Posts already published to your blog stay in your store, because they are your content.
– Keyword and search data (search volumes, search results, public page text) is not personal data and may be kept in a shared cache, so the same searches aren’t paid for twice.
– Technical logs are kept for up to [30] days.
5. YOUR CUSTOMERS’ DATA
Hiredpen does not collect or store data about your customers. If we receive a customer data request or deletion request through Shopify, we confirm that we hold no data about that customer.
6. SECURITY
– Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
– Access tokens for third-party services are stored encrypted.
– The App runs in an isolated environment, and its database is not reachable from the internet.
– Access is limited to the people who operate the App.
7. YOUR RIGHTS
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your information, and object to some uses of it. To make a request, contact us at the address below. We will respond within [30] days.
If you are in the EEA or UK, your information may be processed outside it, for example in [the US / India]. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
8. COOKIES
The App runs inside Shopify admin and uses Shopify’s session tokens. It does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
